Happy Valentine's Day

Today is Valentine's Day! Today we made sure to exchange cards and talk about what Valentine's Day means. Which is about caring about our families and friends and respecting each other!

Making Brownies Today!!!

The 3 Tiger Group will be making Chewy Fudge Brownies today!

The kids are making brownies!

Steps to making our brownies :)

Step 1 - Preheat the oven 325 degrees

Step 2 - You will need 

 

In the bowl - pour out the brownie mix

 

Step 3 - Break the egg

 

Step 4  - Pour 1/4 cup of water

Step 5  - 1/3 Pour Oil

Step 6 - Mix

 

Step 7  - Pour into a pan

Step 8  - Bake for 25-30 mins * When you hear the beep take them out to cool! 

**Don't forget to turn off the oven

And we decided to write our procedure down to help others know what to do if they cannot read the instructions some visuals would help!

A lot of the lyrics were in a different language Tyler was able to share with our small group what they were singing.

It meant a lot to me as a teacher to hear the beautiful translations.

Black History Month - February
It was the Canadian Negro Women’s Association that introduced the celebration of Black History Month to Toronto in the 1950’s. This black Canadian community initiative was adopted by the Ontario government in 1979, thanks to its championing by the Ontario Black History Society. In 1995, the House of Commons declared a national Black History Month, which went into effect in 1996. Black History Month exists to remind us all of the rich contributions within our society from people of African and Caribbean decent, and of their ongoing struggle for equity and social justice. Teachers have the opportunity to engage their students, not only during this month but throughout the school year and recognizing the strengths and resiliency of communities that historically have been marginalized, as well examining issues of racism and the impact of discrimination on these communities.

Black History Month is an opportunity for Canadians to recognize the significant contributions Blacks have made to the life of Canada in education, medicine, art, culture, public service, economic development, politics, and human rights.
